The Midnight Idea
WhatPDF started in a cramped dorm room at 2 AM. Two engineering students, Amadej and Luka, were finishing their final year thesis. They needed to merge five PDF reports, compress them for submission, and sign a few forms.
They were met with paywalls, "free trials" that required credit cards, and shady websites that wanted to upload their private research to distant servers. Frustrated, they realized that the most essential digital tools were being held hostage by subscription models.

To provide a full suite of high-performance PDF tools that are permanently free, unlimited, and accessible to everyone on Earth.

Privacy First
Amadej and Luka decided to do something different. Using modern WebAssembly (WASM) technology, they built a platform where all processing happens inside your browser.
This means your files never leave your computer. We don't see them, we don't store them, and we don't sell your data. Today, WhatPDF has grown from a dorm project to a global movement, supporting millions of users who believe in a free and private internet.
